Chapter 2: Mi Zhu

Meanwhile Mi Zhu tries to extort money from Wu Obi. Wu Obi: (They need me to lend 621 gold?)

Wu Obi: "Are you asking 621 gold from a beggar? Are you absolutely insane? How did you even know exactly how much money I had? Who ARE you?"

Soon after Wu Obi's money is stolen from a mountain bandit by the name of Zhou Cang. Zhou Cang: "It's a pleasure."

Wu Obi: (Did Mi Zhu send you?)

Wu Obi returns to town and a merchant greets him. Merchant: "Well, if it isn't Wu Obi! Stay a while and have a look around!"

Wu Obi: (Not enough gold..)

Wu Obi's misfortune does not stop there. He narrowly escapes an Assassin's attempt on his life thereafter. Assassin: "Now that's a name that brings back memories. Who might you be?"

Wu Obi: (Did Mi Zhu send you?)

All is not lost. During his harrowing escape from an assassin he finds sanctuary within a desperate wife's home. Wu Obi: "Hopefully we can maintain a bond just as strong between you and me."

Under Zhuge Liang's tutelage Wu Obi's intellectual prowess grows. The student must overcome the master!

Wu Obi: "Very well. You shall witness the extent of my knowledge!"

Zhuge Liang: "Allow me to talk with you for a time."

Wu Obi, inspired with such great wisdom, utters something absolutely sensible and logical. Wu Obi: "If you are right, I will do it. If you are right."

Wu Obi: (Seems that I have the advantage...)

However..

Zhuge Liang: "Forgive me, perhaps I was a bit too heated."

Wu Obi: "..."

Regardless, bond between the teacher and his student strengthens, and over time the friendship between the two was about to form. Zhuge Liang: "I look forward to discussing this Paper the next time we meet."

Wu Obi: "Yes." Wu Obi visits Zhuge Liang expecting to discuss Paper. Zhuge Liang: "We were able to track them to Yongan. But we don't know how many of them there are. Will you lend me your aid?"

Wu Obi: "That may be difficult."

Wu Obi tracks down the bandit in Yongan. Wu Obi: "Evil deeds do not pay! Return that sword to me at once!"

Brigand Boss: "At the very least I praise your courage!"

Wu Obi: "We cannot retreat!"

Defeated, Wu Obi eagerly retreats home to Jiangling. Wu Obi is greeted by Mi Zhu waiting at the gates of Jiangling. Mi Zhu: "Please find my friend". Fearing for his life, Wu Obi agrees. Wu Obi: "I hope I can somehow locate Mi Zhu's friend..."

Wu Obi: "I was asked by Mi Zhu to look for a friend."

The man looks oddly familiar. Assassin: "As you can see I'm doing quite well. So please, tell them not to worry."

Mi Zhu's passive aggressive death threats are super effective.

Wu Obi attends Guan Yu's self-defense class. Guan Yu: "Recklessness is not courage!"

Guan Yu: "I will sheath my Blue Dragon in your body!"

Wu Obi: (I thought this was a self-defense class.)

Guan Yu: "We had better stop now before either of us gets hurt."

Wu Obi: "True, this fight may very well go on forever."

Wu Obi lies through his teeth.

Guan Yu: "Who knows? Maybe you won't be so lucky next time."

Wu Obi: (Did Mi Zhu send you?)

Wu Obi: "You didn't hold back on me, did you?"

Guan Yu: "Of course not. We're both just too good. Nice fight."

Wu Obi: "Indeed. It was."

There have been too many attempts on Wu Obi's life. Something had to change.

Wu Obi had to become a hero.

Greatness awaits.
