Chapter 7: Interlude

Wu Obi woke up. Emperor Wu Obi: "..."

Emperor Wu Obi: (Those nightmares again. A Gathering of Heroes? How ridiculous. They all serve me or have perished by my sword, and yet...) Empress Ma Yunlu: "Staring at the horizon again? What's the matter?"

Emperor Wu Obi: "Oh, it's you." ​

​ Emperor Wu Obi: "How fast time passes by. Just how long has it been since those violent times?"

Empress Ma Yunlu: "It feels like just yesterday, yet the children are all grown up now."

Emperor Wu Obi: (Right, my sons Wu Wan and Wu Kenobi. I also have a wife, my empress Ma Yunlu of many many years junior.)

Emperor Wu Obi: "So much has happened since then..."

Empress Ma Yunlu: "It makes you wonder what the future may bring."

Emperor Wu Obi: "Indeed. But it is those same children who will sculpt it."

Emperor Wu Obi: "They will rebuild and begin anew, no matter the cost."

Emperor Wu Obi thinks back... All the way back...
